The Diocese of Trenton ushered in Respect Life Month by announcing the 2018-19 Respect Life Poster, Essay and Photo-Meme Contest, open to students in kindergarten through eighth grade. Submissions are now being accepted for the contest, which has adopted the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ 2018 Respect Life theme,
“Every Life: Cherished, Chosen, Sent.”
Students in the Diocese enrolled in Catholic grammar schools, parish religious education and youth programs, as well as home-schooled K-8 students are eligible to compete by submitting an original poster, essay or “photo meme” that pertains to Respect Life issues and reflects the chosen theme. Children can enter one of six categories by age and media: Grades K-2 – posters; grades 3-5 – posters; grades 3-5 – essay; grades 6-8 – posters; grades 6-8 – essay; grades 6-8 – photo meme. A photo meme is a photo with a caption, often circulated on social media.

A series of ministry training sessions to assist parishes wishing to form Adult Faith Formation teams will be provided this fall in St. Robert Bellarmine Co-Cathedral, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold. The training is sponsored by the Diocese of Trenton’s Department of Evangelization and Family Life. All sessions are from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Co-Cathedral’s Trinity Hall, and include:
Oct. 27 – Jumpstarting Adult Faith Formation Ministry in Your Parish Nov. 10 – Nuts and Bolts of Developing a Parish Adult Formation Ministry Nov. 17 – Creating & Facilitating Small Faith Communities
