Lay Ecclesial Ministry
The Institute for Lay Ecclesial Ministry (ILEM) was established for the formation of Lay Pastoral Leaders for service to the Diocese of Trenton. ILEM, a three year formation program, provides Theological Education, Spiritual Formation and Pastoral Skills development. ILEM strives to form Lay Pastoral Leaders who will collaborate with ordained ministers in serving the Body of Christ.
The Lay Ecclesial Ministry of the Office of Parish Life
Is Available To:
- Assist parishes with staff development and formation upon request
- Facilitate collaboration among lay and ordained in ministry
- Publicize opportunities for personal and professional development
- Provide information about ministry positions as they become available
- Host information sessions for potential ILEM candidates
Provides:
- Formation for Lay Ecclesial Ministers seeking commissioning through the Institute for Lay Ecclesial Ministry (ILEM)
- Maintain a list of active Lay Ecclesial Ministers
- Opportunities for continuing formation
- Training for Ministry Mentors/ Maintain a list of available mentors
- Opportunities for networking, faith-sharing and theological reflection
- Resources for resume writing, job descriptions and pay scales
- Resources for ministry and a Lending Library
- Latest news regarding world-wide trends in ministry
