ILEM - Spiritual Formation
Spiritual Formation is essential for those preparing for Ecclesial Ministry. In order to better facilitate the journey of others in the Body of Christ, Lay Ecclesial Ministers must attend to their own spiritual journey. The following Spiritual Formation Program is required of all ILEM-Traditional and ILEM-Extended candidates:
- Individual Spiritual Direction
- Silent Directed Overnight Retreats
- Group Spiritual Formation Days
Group Spiritual Formation Days focus on topics such as:
Year 1
- Praying Our Experiences
- Images of God and Relational Prayer
- Contemplative Prayer
- Finding God in the Darkness
- Discernment of Spirits: Choosing with God
- Incarnational Spirituality
Year 2
- Saints: Teachers of Prayer
- Paschal Mystery
- Heart of the Minister
- Reconciliation: Meeting the Forgiving God
- Unity Amid Diversity
- Finding God in All Things
Year 3
- Spirituality of Social Justice
- Heart of Evangelization
- Beatitude Spirituality
- Eucharist-Presence that Matters
- Deepening the Spiritual Life for the Ongoing Journey
- Jesus: The Way, The Truth, The Life
