Our Committment
A healthy and whole faith community is one where all members of Christ's Body are in right relationship with each other. As disciples of Jesus, we commit ourselves to companioning and learning from those who are challenged by developmental, cognitive and/or physical disabilities.

Talk with your parish religious education leader about your child's special educational needs. Ask for appropriate options for religious education and sacramental preparation. You may also contact the Diocesan Advocate for Persons with Disabilities, Janis Bell, in the Office of Family Life, for referral assistance.
"There are different kinds of spiritual gifts but the same Spirit; there are different forms of service but the same Lord; there are different workings but the same God who produces all of them in everyone." (1 Corinthians 12:4-6)
Holy Innocents Society
The Holy Innocents Society is a Diocesan Society consisting of a federation of the four county chapters of the Diocese. The Society is dedicated to the spiritual welfare of Special Children of all ages who have developmental disabilities.
The Holy Innocents Society is dedicated to the spiritual welfare of "Special Children" of all ages. It is a diocesan Society consisting of a federation of the four county chapters of the diocese.
Holy Innocents Centers throughout the diocese provide children and adults with special needs, including intellectual, cognitive or developmental disabilities, with religious education geared to their individual learning ability. Dedicated catechists prepare their students for the reception of the sacraments and to take an active role in the Church community. In the love of Jesus Christ for his children and through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, catechists endeavor to foster within each student a positive self-concept, a sense of morality and participation in the Christian community.
The centers, under the auspices of the Holy Innocents Society, are staffed by volunteer catechists and aides supported by the bishop, priests, deacons, members of the Society, and the parents and friends of the students. Primary funding for the centers is provided by the Knights of Columbus with additional support from the Diocese of Trenton and with help from the Holy Innocents Society and contributions of concerned individuals and organizations.
