Haitian Community
The Haitian Center of the Diocese of Trenton provides appropriate pastoral and social services to Haitian immigrants. It supports the Haitian community, developing the work of evangelization and Christian formation, responding to their spiritual and social needs.
Serving the Haitian Community: Father Pierre-Michel Alabré
Although the Haitian Center is closing effective July 1, 2012, the Catholic ministry to the Haitian Community will continue, and is simply moving to a parish-based outreach at:
Our Lady of Sorrows-St. Anthony Parish
3816 E State Street Ext.
Hamilton, NJ 08619-2450

Relying on the continuing Mercy of God, we desire to be in active solidarity with our Haitian brothers and sisters, respecting and valuing the influence of the Haitian culture. Through pastoral ministry and the Grace of God, the Haitian community is strengthened in Faith, Hope, and Charity, leading to the mutual enrichment of the local Church.
In Mercer County, there is a Haitian Center, housed at the former Convent at the Church of St. Anthony, in the city of Trenton, at 530 South Olden Avenue.
In Monmouth County there is a Haitian Ministry at the Church of the Holy Spirit in Asbury Park, at 705 Second Avenue.
