History
The Dioceses of Trenton and Kasana-Luweero are partners in Catholic Relief Service's (CRS) Global Solidarity Partnership program. The Global Solidarity Partnership is an effort by CRS and various dioceses from across the United States to promote the 'universal' Church and provide much needed assistance to the poor in developing countries. Through CRS partnerships, the Church is attempting to promote solidarity and community, along with attention and assistance to the medical, economic, and spiritual needs of the people.

The partnership between Trenton and Kasana-Luweero is now in its second year. The major focus of the partnership is the pandemic of HIV/AIDS in the African nation. Fr. Brian Butch, pastor of Holy Innocents parish in Neptune and diocesan Director of CRS, has centered the efforts of the diocese on the education of the people about HIV/AIDS, promotion of abstinence programs, addressing the large numbers of children orphaned by HIV/AIDS and providing prototype clinics for basic medications. Trenton has been able to provide a motorcycle and a truck for the local doctor and medical personnel so that they may visit and treat the sick that oftentimes cannot walk the long distances to medical facilities.
