Lord Jesus, teach me to be generous; teach me to serve you as you deserve, to give and not to count the cost, to fight and not to heed the wounds, to toil and not to seek for rest, to labor and not to seek reward, except that of knowing that I do your will. Amen.
- St. Ignatius Loyola
How We Serve
The diocesan Department of Development is charged with garnering support for the diocese as a whole. This is accomplished by encouraging a generous and prayerful response to the work that is being accomplished through diocesan ministries. Each of us is called to live our lives as Disciples of Christ. Our Charity is the outward expression of our beliefs. It is also our greatest social commandment. We practice our charity by giving of ourselves through our work, by sharing our knowledge and skills with others, and by sharing our financial gains. This is done through a variety of funding priorities.
Annual Catholic Appeal
The largest fundraiser that touches every ministry and parish in our Diocese is the Annual Catholic Appeal. Our office oversees every aspect of the appeal: marketing and public relations, data and web technologies, trainings, and resourcing every parish in the diocese.
The Catholic Alumni Partnership has bee
n developed through our Foundation for Student Achievement, to enable us to raise necessary funding for our Catholic schools. Through CAP we will be able to provide tuition assistance, scholarships and improved curriculum for our thirty-seven school in the Diocese of Trenton.
In 2007, the Office of Catholic Schools of the Diocese of Trenton, through its strategic plan, Commitment to Excellence, endorsed the establishment of the foundation to ensure a quality education for all students of the Catholic schools within the Diocese.
An Endowment Campaign for the future sustainability of our Church in the Diocese of Trenton.
To benefit the Harris Family Charitable Trust for the Aged, Infirmed and Disabled Priests
The proceeds from this event help us to maintain the priest's retirement residence at Villa Vianney; and to provide healthcare for our retired priests. Your faithful support of this day is very much appreciated and will help us to continue to care for the growing number of men who have served our diocese so well.
