Pastors, in consultation with their Parish Staff and Pastoral Council, may choose to concentrate on one goal, several goals, or all of the goals from the Diocesan Plan in the coming year.

A step-by-step approach to parish pastoral planning is offered for your consideration.

This process presumes a planning group will be working with one goal at a time; and may be used repeatedly to address as many of the goals as desired. It can also be used with a number of groups working simultaneously, each focused on a different goal. In either scenario, the parish will need to create a mechanism for bringing together the work on different goals, reconciling competing interests, and establishing priorities.
